Technorati Marcas: LiveMesh, mesh.com, www.mesh.com, remote desktop, Live Desktop

LiveMesh Windows is Microsoft's new solution for data synchronization, remote access to computers, desktop online and a number of other services, all accessible through a single point, its LiveMesh.
This new service aims to solve some of the problems we face and the main access to data from anywhere, eg.: Computer from home, computer work, a computer in a cyber cafe etc ... With LiveMesh we have the opportunity to have access from anywhere (with Internet connection) to a set of folders that have decided to share.
The LiveMesh is a platform with huge potential to grow, and was architect to the same objective. Although only available in Tech Preview, and access for the time being is only possible by invitation.
The entry page of the service gives us a ring we can add our computers (pc at work, home, laptop, etc. ..). Currently we can only add computers running Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista, but in the near future Microsoft plans to increase the compatibility for Macs and mobile devices.

Add a computer is extremely simple and intuitive, just click the icon "Add Device", download and install a small program, and we have a computer available in the ring to start sharing. ![]()
As we can see in the picture from above, we also have a Live Desktop, but that I will speak later.
The functionality available in this first version, focusing on three key points that I will explain below.
Access / Synchronization of documents (folders)
The synchronization of folders between multiple computers Mesh ring was one of the main objectives of LiveMesh. This enables us to share folders between different computers that add to our LiveMesh eg.: Our pc from home pc's and our work. A simple way we can have access to documents of a particular folder you decided to share / synchronize between multiple PCs on our Mesh ring.
Currently all Mesh folders (shared folders in the service) are stored in the "cloud" ('s servers) so that may be accessible through the Internet even if all computers are off the ring. We access these folders via the Live Desktop. The currently available space for storage is about 5GB.
Mesh Folders assume a blue color, so we can easily identify what we are sharing. We may share all types of documents, from Word documents to images, movies, etc ...
In the previous image, we can see a Mesh folder, Windows Vista. The right side of the folder, see the Bar Mesh that allows us to see the comments made to the folder (the folder we can share with friends), who has access to the folder, and what are the computer where the folder is synchronized.
LiveMesh Remote Desktop
But the LiveMesh is not only to sharing / synchronization of documents between our computers. We also have the ability to access remotely through the Remote Desktop technology LiveMesh to each of the computers that we have defined in the ring LiveMesh. This remote access allows us to work as if in front of the computer that we are entering.
Best of all this is that only need a browser.
LiveMesh can also use Remote Desktop from one of the computers in our ring, to access another. The advantage of LiveMesh Remote Desktop Remote Desktop on the standard is beyond firewalls, NAT, etc ..., it is prepared to work with only HTTP traffic.
Live Desktop
The Live Desktop is a Web application that simulates a Windows Vista desktop in the browser.
Here we can see our Mesh folders and consult them in a manner similar to the windows environment.
In the previous picture we can see an example. We note that within the browser. ![]()
In the future, come to have certain applications within our Live Desktop. In videos that leave at the end of the article, you can see an example of an application for sharing images to demonstrate what you can do with this platform Mesh.
Once you have access to LiveMesh, I will give more news about the service. However, here I leave you some videos to understand better the concept.
